Brand new apartment in an old building from 1935. This is a one-bedroom apartment with new furniture in Downtown Charm Reykjavik, located in the basement of Grundarstígur 17, close to Reykjavik’s main shopping street. The entrance is at the back of the building.
Sleeps 3 people, very cozy new apartment in a great location – a charming place to spend your vacation. You can walk from the apartment to all of the main spots in Reykjavik’s old city as well as the best downtown restaurants. The parking is on Grundarstígur, the street in front of the building.
A great location, very close to Tjörnin, Hljómskálagarður, Laugavegur, Skólavörðustígur and the City Hall where the pick-up point for sightseeing day tours is to be found.

There are many nice restaurants nearby and we recommend Gott restaurant, Apótekið, Essensia, Kopar, and many other restaurants you will see listed on our front page.
The Krónan Supermarket is within 3 minutes walking distance of Hallveigarstígur.
The next bus stop location is at Hotel Holt (BSÍ Main bus terminal) or Inga's new Guest Apartments on Bergstaðastræti (Bus Stop 8 Hallgrímskirkja)
The new sleeping couch is in the living room, new flat-screen TV, Apple TV as well is the kitchen. The door to the apartment, which is behind the building, is marked as Krafla.
Nice big waterfall shower head, high-quality bed and the apartment has everything you need for your vacation. All the furniture and equipment in the apartment are new.
Tenants have access to TV, Apple TV, and free Wi-Fi. The kitchen is equipped with everything needed for 3 people. New high-quality bed and a sleeping couch. Dynamic shower fitted with a waterfall shower head.

The keys are in the key box and we send the code and detailed info when tenants have confirmed the reservation. You can make the reservation through our website www.downtowncharm.is or through Airbnb, HomeAway and Booking. Just click on the button to go directly to the trusted booking sites.
We absolutely loved our stay and the wonderfully clean and welcoming space. The apartment is below ground with chest-height windows, which I thought would be dark but was actually bright and open. Though the apartment is small, it had everything we needed. We loved the clean design of the apartment, and the instructions on how to keep the space dry and ventilated were very helpful. All amenities were sparkling clean and new. There was an electric coffee maker and a french press, along with fresh coffee which made a world of difference after an overnight flight. The only item we found lacking in the simple but well-stocked kitchen was a cutting board. We found the bed cozy and comfortable and appreciated the fold-out sofa as well, and decided to try the Icelandic two-duvet system back at home! The location was fantastic—a five-minute walk each to the Pond and the shopping district, but the only traffic was the (surprisingly quiet) high school students walking to and from the school at the end of the block. Five stars!
Daníel and Ólöf share all the information you can possibly think of. Hot spots, cafes, touristic info, etc. Checking in and out was very smooth as well. It was very conveniently located, walkable distance to all the places in the downtown. Also very clean and logistically very smooth. Thank you for hosting!
Very clean, very comfortable apartment. Perfect for a couple traveling. Thank you for allowing us to stay in your place! We had a great time and the location was great! We appreciated how clean everything was and we tried our best to leave it clean as well 🙂 Highly recommend for anyone looking to stay close to the city centre!
